History – Discovery and Legacy

In history we are going to be looking at discoveries made by individuals that lived in the UK. The children will be learning about historical, medical and geological discoveries and how they have impacted life today. At the end of the topic we will be asking the children to research a discovery and make a presentation that they can share with the class.

The children will explore the book Wanted: The Perfect Pet. We will be looking at the language used in book and focusing on the characters, problems and how they are resolved. The children will be looking at adjectives and creating adverts for a most wanted pet. We will also be looking at Commotion in the Ocean to continue our rhyming skills and write a non-fiction piece of writing about a sea creature.
