At Brookburn Primary School, we are always striving to strengthen our relationships with parents and carers while also building strong connections within our local community. In December 2024, we began the process to achieve the National Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA).
What is the LPPA award?
At Brookburn Primary School, we believe in working closely with parents and the wider community to support our pupils’ education and wellbeing. We deeply value the role that parents and carers play in their children’s school experience, both in and outside the classroom. Research has shown that when parents are engaged in their child’s learning, there is a positive impact on achievement, behaviour, and attendance. We always welcome feedback from parents and carers as we continuously look for ways to improve our approach.
What difference will the award make to Brookburn Primary School?
Throughout the LPPA process, we aim to build upon our existing strengths in working with parents. Our key goals include:
- Supporting parents as their children transition through school phases.
- Ensuring all parent groups feel included and engaged in their child’s learning.
- Making our school a welcoming, communicative, and friendly environment for parents.
- Providing clear and accessible guidance to help parents support their children’s education.

- Increase parental engagement and involvement.
- Strengthen parental support in children’s learning.
- Enhance communication between home and school.
