History – Discovery and Legacy |
| In history we are going to be looking at discoveries made by individuals that lived in the UK. The children will be learning about historical, medical and geological discoveries and how they have impacted life today. At the end of the topic we will be asking the children to research a discovery and make a presentation that they can share with the class.

English |
| Wanted: The Perfect Pet and Commotion in the Ocean
The children will explore the book Wanted: The Perfect Pet. We will be looking at the language used in book and focusing on the characters, problems and how they are resolved. The children will be looking at adjectives and creating adverts for a most wanted pet. We will also be looking at Commotion in the Ocean to continue our rhyming skills and write a non-fiction piece of writing about a sea creature.

Maths |
| In Maths we will be looking at the following areas: Place value: To secure our knowledge of numbers to 50. Length and Height: Looking at different measures. Mass and Volume: Continue our learning of measurement while looking at mass and weight, and capacity and volume. |
Science |
| Animals including Humans:
The first week back the children will be looking at signs of spring and changes in the weather. The children will then be exploring carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. We will be carrying out an investigation into the diets of different animals too. We will also be looking at food chains in nature. |
Other Curriculum Areas |
| Art- Inspired by Flora and Forna we will be making collages with the focus of mini beasts.
Music- The children will listen and appraise the song ‘Round and Round’. Physical Education- We will be looking at target games in PE this term. Religious Education- We will continue to look at Christianity and what Christians believe. Computing-Moving a Robot. |
UN Convention of the Rights of the Child |
| In the Summer term 2025, we achieved the UNICEF UK Gold Rights Respecting Schools award. This term the Rights Respecting council will be planning a ‘Gold Day’ to celebrate this. We will be organising lots of fun activities linked to the Rights of the child. The council will write to you in the next few weeks to share more information. This half term we will also be celebrating World Book Day, International Women’s Day and World Water Day. In March, we will take part in the ‘Great British Spring Clean’. Our school charter: Our school charter: Article 2- The convention applies to every child without discrimination, whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, language, abilities or any other status, whatever they think or say, whatever their family background. Article 12- Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously.
